You have just finished your studies of veterinary medicine and you are working on your PhD thesis? Or you are waiting for the recognition of your university certificate in Germany and its approval? And you already want to start working in veterinary medicine?

Then we are looking forward to your support in the following areas of our clinic:

  • in the night shift in our ward
  • on weekends in the ward
  • on weekdays in the anaesthesia department

Your tasks in the night shift:
Between 10 pm and 06 am you are responsible for our patients at the dog, cat, small domestic animal and infection ward. You will document treatment protocols, give medication and take care of our patients at the intensive care unit. You will also support our doctors in emergency service to take x-rays, insert vein catheters and develop treatment plans.

You are available to us at least two nights a week. Your shift begins at 10 pm and lasts until 06 am, ideally you can work until 09 am.

Your tasks at the ward:
You support our veterinarians at the dog, cat, small domestic animal and infection ward in all treatments, giving medications, taking blood samples for the laboratory, inserting catheters, documenting treatment protocols and intensive care protocols.

Your tasks in the anaesthesia department:
You are in charge of the OP preparation. Your main tasks are inserting venous catheters and sedating animals. In consultation with the senior anaesthetist who is in charge, you coordinate anaesthetics and dosage. You lead and monitor anaesthesia during the OP procedure. In case of doubts or any kind of problems, a senior anaesthetist is available for you at any time.

This is what you should bring with you:

  • a degree in veterinary medicine
  • the willingness to work for us at least 6 months
  • you are available to work at least 3 days a week
  • German language skills at least at level B2. If you are currently at a lower level you can still apply and start working with us, provided the willingness to reach the B2 level is given.

This position can be full-time or part-time, and is initially limited to two years. At your request, the contract terms can also be shorter. Earliest start is from 01.03.2023.

We see this position as an entry position for young professionals, who want to gain their first practical experience. This position is perfect for preparing you for your next position, which would be as an assistant veterinarian in the rotating internship, or for taking care of our patients at the intensive care.
